    T2370, T2500, T5300; few questions!

    It happens that I have both the T2370 and the T5300, and the size of the die on the T5300 is twice the size of the die on the T2370. Is the above quote correct?

    Is the T2370 really faster than the T2500?

    Just with the number game 2ghz vs 1.66ghz I don't see how the T2370 can be faster than the T2500.

    may be because the t2370 is two generations newer than the T2500?

    Maybe, but it just does not make sense that 1.66ghz is faster than 2ghz, unless one take in consideration of all peripheries that make up the system.

    I do not believe that those charts are accurate. When I had a T2500, My T5300 was quite a lot faster. The new core 2 duo architecture is around 25% faster per MHz Clock speed than the core duo architecture.

    In rendering through V-RAY, I found that the T5300 at stock speed was significantly faster than the T2500 at 2Ghz

    I would say the pentium dual core is slower based on the core architecture difference and the cache of the processors

    so guys to sum up

    The T2500 is faster than the T2370.

    K-Tron I think you will like this. I was googling the T5300 earlier this morning and I found you thread about the various upgrade you did in your (E1505). I mean where you benchmarked the T2500, the T5300 and the T7400.

    Man the T5300 is a beast... unfortunately it was too hot for my liking when I run it with a 200 FSB yesterday (200 via pin mod). Even the access times to the HDD felt shorter.

    Is there more than one revision for the T5300?

    The T5300 is a good processor. It carried me through my first year at college before upgrading to the T7400.
    I do not think there is another revision. My T5300 was a SL9WE
    It did 0.950V on rightmark for every multiplier

    Maybe a T5300 engineering sample may be more advantageous for you?

    I played with the T5300 for a while. I started by undervolting in via RMclock. All the run stable at 0.9500v. Then, I pin moded it (VID4 and -0.2v). With this I got multiplier 6x and 7x running at 0.7500v :). multiplier 12x at 0.9000v and 13x at 1.1125v (with mod I lost all the values between 0.9125v and 1.1125v

    Know I trying to get it to run at 200FSB.

    how would I know if a CPU is an Engineering sample if I find one in ebay?

    never mind. I had to look in ebay.com to find engineering sample. ebay.co.uk don't list them

    The cpu will say "ES" on it.
    The seller should advertise it as an ES CPU.

    You could also ID it from the stepping probably.
    when you find one, just post a link to it here and people will let you know.

    I hear that ES cpus need more voltage than the equivilent non ES cpu.
    Otherwise if it has a temp sensor it should be allright.
