No the T2500 is not worth it. The T2400 is still very fast and you will not notice the difference between the 2 processors. Beef up other parts of your laptop first. Since you will be gaming get a decent GPU since that is far more important than increasing the processor a few MHz. Put the money towards a better GPU or more RAM - then you will notice the difference.

I agree, get the GPU and RAM. If you have the money deffinately do the CPU as well. I was lucky enough to get a great deal from deal and got the rig in my sig for a little under $1600 (upgraded them ram myself since it was cheaper) So play around and look and wait for Deals, unless you have to have it now.

Everyone I've spoken to, including 3 out of 3 salesmen, told me the difference was not noticable at all -- on a gaming machine. I even went for the "lowest" processor choice, and chose to put my money into other places, ie. a webcam.

I wouldn't get those t2050 or whatevers, the ones that have the FSB clocked at 533 instead of 677 -- I'm suspicious of slower FSB's -- but otherwise, don't worry about upgrading your CPU for sure.
