Can someone give me a link to the best price on RAM compatible with the Lenovo T420 or at least tell me which RAM I should be looking for? I want it to be 4GB.

    Thanks.

It uses DDR3-1333MHz. Any brand will be compatible. I usually buy my memory from Newegg or eBay.

Just to clarify, DDR3-1333MHz as noted above is formally known as PC3-10600 so that's what you need.

As for brand, doesn't really matter but it would worth getting something with a lifetime warranty such as Crucial, Corsair, Kingston and the like.

My vote goes to Kingston, Crucial or GSkill.

I picked up a 4 GB stick of G Skill DDR3 Sodimm 1333 MHz and works fine in my T400. I got it on sale a few weeks ago on Newegg. As long as it's DDR3 SODIMM 1333 it will work fine. Generally, brand does not matter when buying RAM, just look for things like a lifetime warranty.

Also make sure to match the timings.
