    Hi All,

    I need your opinion. For $100 is it worth upgrading my T5250 1.6C2D to a T7500 2.2 C2D?

    This is my configuration:

    Intel 4500 (integrated graphics)
    120GB 5400rpm
    2gb 667

All i'm going to do with this laptop is:
    1) Simple Office word processing/excel
    2) Internet browsing, heavy downloading
    3) Playing music, videos, DVD, streaming
    4) playing old games that are 4-5 years old like Soldier of fortune2 and Return to castle Wolfenstein. (Will Counterstrike source run with this integrated graphics? What about Team Fortress 2/Left 4 dead?)

this is more like a day to day notebook with me since i already got a gaming laptop Asus g50vt-a1.

    Thanks in advance.

No i would wait for quad extreme cpus laptops when the price drops.Gpus are more important. The 4500 isnt really strong its weaker than a 6xxx series geforce.

Yes i would do it. The person above me says wait for quad cores but only few laptops can runt hem and i bet yours cant. I went from a t5250 to a t7100 and noticed a decent jump in speed i would reccomend the upgrade. Only thing is dont get a t7500 if you have a choice get a t8100 or t8300.

I would recommend the upgrade but not for $100 sunk cost. Sell your laptop, add $100 and get a better laptop.

i went from a t5450 to a t8300 and saw a huge difference in speed. Apps loaded faster, quicker boot times. If your getting a t7500 for a decent price id go for it.
and as for your 4500 it should be able to run cs:s with med settings at a nice fps just no AA

Thank you very much! That is actually something i wanted to know. If the T5250 jump to T7500 is significant and capable of running CSS in medium setting, then its definitely worth a shot. I would definitely like to see smoother and slightly quicker load times.

To the previous poster, I already have a high end Asus G50VT-A1 that comes with T9400 and a 9800GS for newer games. This laptop is just to cover my day to day usage with some light gaming.
