    Hello

Please what is the difference between T5300 C2D 1,73 Ghz and T7250 C2D 2.0 Ghz

Is the T5300enough for basic work like running IE, MS office, simple editing programs, simple games....

Or will I notice significant improvment if I have T7250. I just don't wan't to wait too long for xp, vista to boot up, when openning apps... - I would like to have responsive notebook.

How does T2330 1.66 Ghz core dual compare to above mentioned.

Do you maybe know what is the difference between chipset GM965 and PM965, is there the difference only in x3100 on GM ?

I'm asking you this questions because I can not decide which notebook to buy, see me post:

    Thank you.

    Best regards.

The T5300 runs at 1.73GHz on a 667MHz FSB and the T7250 runs at 2.0GHz on an 800MHz FSB. Both have 2MB of L2 cache. The T2330 runs at 1.66GHz on a 533MHz bus and has 1MB of L2 cache.

Between the T2330 and the T7250 you might feel a performance difference, but for generally office use any of the three will be fine.

The PM965 chipset always ships with discrete graphics and the GM965 usually ships with integrated graphics (Intel x3100) but can ship with discrete graphics as well.

Here is a link to the Intel Mobile 965 Chipset Family. More than you ever wanted or needed to know.

I have a T5300 in my dell Inspiron E1505, its a good processor, sometimes I wish I got the T7200 for an extra $50.

    By the way, the T5300 has a 533mhz FSB, not a 667.

Once I get my Voodoo back from paint, I am thinking of Bsel modding the T5300 so that it runs at 2.16Ghz.
I dont know if its possible, but its worth a shot.

If you want fast boot times, look into a 250Gb or greater 5400rpm drive, or a good 7200rpm drive like Hitachi's 7k200 series. Boot time is mainly regulated by harddrive speed, so the faster the drive, the better the responsiveness of the notebook.

ok, thanks, if I understand you correctly that slow HD is slowing the nootebook down and even T2330 is enough for simple tasks like IE, office...

does anyone have t2330, how does perform ?

    thanks

I have a Celeron M 410/ATI 200m vid card and it is more than enough for Office and IE. Heck even both at the same time. ;)

If you want a basic utility computer, T2300 is fine. If you want to do some gaming and/or hi def work, then get the 5300.
