I have a Acer 5710, it currently has a T5500 cpu and I wanted to drop in a T7300, or is that not compatible?

I bought one off a friend for cheap, so I hope it works, but if not, Ill have to ebay it =/

    Sorry, it won't work.

The T5500 uses a Socket M while the T7300 uses a Socket P. You'd want a T7X00 for upgrades, where X is an even number.

Yeah. While the CPU core might be the same (still Merom) the socket has changed and the FSB har been raised. If you want 2GHz C2D, You want te T7200. Which is quite excellent.
