    T5550 vs T4200. Simple Which Is Better?

    simply,which is the better processor, and by how much of a margin?

    1.83ghz core 2 duo T5550

    or

    2.0ghz pentium dual core T4200

    Ie: T4200 is 24% faster than T5550.

    Don't listen to K-Tron, he is confused. The T5550 is only available as a socket P processor and does run at 1.83Ghz.

    Anyway, the T4200 would be a little faster, but nothing you would notice unless you are really stressing your processor with what you are currently runnning. For internet, videos, music, and office applications it is more than enough already. The T4200 would have noticeably better battery life though, but not anything really drastic. If you were planning on upgrading, just save your money; it probably isn't worth it.

    Passmark is often wrong, that's true.

    I do think T4200 is quite a bit faster than T5550 though, since it uses newer cores.
