    What exactly does front side bus and 2MB L2 cache mean? How better are these than current duo core processors?

    Cache - It is basically memory located on the cpu itself. It is faster than RAM and the hard drive but is usually smaller. Larger cache is usually better but larger cache means that it will also tend to be slower. Different microarchitectures work better with different amounts of RAM. There are 2types of cache Level 1 & level 2.

    The Merom(or Core 2 Duo) are based on Intels next generation architecture which includes and improves on the Core(current - not Pentium 4) architecture. The performance difference arises from this fact. The Merom is also a 64 bit capable processor.
