Is the P series worth the 100 buck upgrade over the T series?

Depends upon what tasks you run, and if good battery life is a necessity or not ?

The T5800 is a good midrange cpu. It will be more than powerful enough for most tasks.
The P series chips are more power efficient and expensive, so if you are looking for more battery life go with a P series chip. the P8400 is a great chip and its not going to break the bank.

I think the P series is a pretty substantial upgrade and in my opinion, definitely worth the $100. For starters, your FSB is increased almost 2 fold, and they are more power efficient. Like K-tron suggested, the P8400 is a great combination between power/price.
