    Hi,

I recently cracked the LCD (just a small fall off of my chair and bang! arrr!) on my T61 (P/N 43T0405) and got a replacement (13N7163 was sent). At first, when I plugged in the replacement, I could see a very faint Thinkpad startup logo, then the rest was too dark to see.

Now, when I plug in both my cracked LCD and the new LCD to the inverter ONLY, I get a beautiful lit up LCD in both cases, which leads me to believe that the inverter works fine. When I have the data/LCD hookup plugged in along with the power into the inverter board, the computer turns off within a second or so.

The computer works fine on an external display...it's what I'm typing on right now...

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Peter

Sounds like a DOA LCD backlight.
