Is there any considerable change in gaming performance between these two processors?

    T6400:
2.0 GHz, 800 MHz FSB, 2 Mb cache

    T6600:
2.2 GHz, 800 MHz FSB, 2 Mb cache

I would use if mostly for casual gaming, maybe supreme commander at the most.

    Thanks

There is little to no performance difference between the two.

Just as there is little difference between their model series names, they also have a very little difference in performance, the T6600 is only a successor of the T6400 for more up to date systems..

Actually the T6400 and T6600 were both introduced in 1/09 to replace the T5800 and T5900. The T6400 is widely used in retail configurations (the ones you'll find in stores). The T6600 is mostly found on CTO (configure-to-order) models as an upgrade (Dell and HP, in particular).

In benchmark tests, the T6600 will perform a bit better than the T6400. Those tests measure the maximum performance possible...but it's rare that most of us push our processors to 100%. Everday performance between the T6400 and T6600 will be almost identical.

I wouldn't spend the money to upgrade from the T6400 to T6600. If a P-series upgrade was available, that might be worth the $$$.
