    Question:
    Laptop is Asus G1
    Is it worth 500.00 to upgrade from a Intel Core 2 Duo T7200 (2.0GHz) to a T7600 (2.33GHz)?

    Thank you in advance!

Well, for $500, for most peope it is a no. The T7600 will only really be faster in applications which are processor dependant, such as video editing and encoding. Even then, the difference in performance isn't massive when compared to the T7200. Gaming will be the same on both, as the limiting factor there is the graphics card.

The T7200 sits in the middle of the Core 2 Duo range, and certainly has the best price to performance ratio. It a very fast processor and is more than enough for even some of the most demanding tasks, so I woudl suggest go for it. $500 is too much a price difference, to justify the increase in performance.

It really depends on what you are planning to do. Although even with rendering video and audio it will show little performance difference. I would not waste the $500 on a small upgrade especially if you have no intent on using all of its power. To get a better answer could you tell us what you plan on doing with the laptop.

I agree. For most tasks, the T7200 will be more than enough. It isn't worth 500 dollars to upgrade to the T7600.
