There will not be a significant difference. If you were to be doing encoding or other extremely heavy CPU tasks, then yes, you will notice a difference, but if you are going to break a budget, then go with the 5 series. There is a low percentage decrease, I believe sub 10% in caching differences as referenced in another post a while back, but for general use and gaming, it will not be like night and day. By the way, the 8 and 9 series Intel processors are much cooler, so if possible I would say upgrade to a low end processor in those categories. The T8100/8300 would work out nicely.

The 5750 is a lower end processor, but the performance difference is not that much between the two. If you are using software which utilizes 100% cpu power than it would be a good idea to get a higher clocked processor such as a T8300 or T9300/T9500.

You will only notice performance gain from the faster processor if you are gaming, running CAD, or video editing, since these programs use full cpu power.

If you are using the laptop for light gaming and email, than a T5750 is a good choice.
