Intel® Core 2 Duo T7300 Processor (2.0GHz,800MHz,4MB L2 cache)
vs.
Intel® Core 2 Duo T7500 Processor (2.2GHz,800MHz,4MB L2 cache)
Is there a big difference between the two? Is the £60 additional price justified? Better for gaming?
-
No, there won't be much of a difference unless you're into synthetic benchmarks.
-
You will not see a significant difference in gaming ability; a video card has far more say in determining how a game will run. I would save the 60 pounds for something else.
-
Nope it isn't...put that money on more memory or a faster HDD. You only will notice the difference in synthetic benchmarks...no real world apps. In games it will be marginal at most.
-
what about processor intensive games like counterstrike source... and other games where alot of processing has to go in the physics of objects and movement etc???
ive ordered a vostro with the 2.2ghz because i felt it could run tommorows games (e.g. crysis) better. It didnt have a 7200rpm hard drive option but ive heard that only speeds up boot times. It comes with the 256mb geforce 8600gt -
CS:S is not really a processor intensive app. About the only game you'll notice any difference is supreme commander.
You'll notice it in CAD design, video editing, coding and stuff like that. -
thanks i was planning on doing some video editing
(im member of a productions team that edits videos for game players and most of our productions have been in CSS)

a T5470 with 8600M GT will play Crysis just as well as even a T7700 and 8600M GT. Your performance is only as good as your weakest link, which is the video card.
a 7200RPM HD will not increase your gaming FPS, but it will improve boot up time, loading time, file transfer rate etc. -
When i mean notice, I mean like a few minutes shaved off. The T7300 is a beast.

Don't waste your time and money.
