I've searched around the internet for help on this issue, but I havent' had any luck so I'll try asking here.

What exactly is the Core speed for the t7500 supposed to be at? I know it's supposed to be 2.2. ghz, but take a look at this screenshot. Am I doing it wrong? :(

I'm pretty sure that they undervolte and underclock when they aren't at a high load to save power and heat. Try running wPrime and then checking.

A T7500 is 2.2Ghz core speed. It down clocks to save power and lower heat. The screen shot you show is it down clocked 6X multiplier when at full speed should have 11X multiplier. Slide the CPU-Z over to the right and open something that does not fill screen you may see the multiplier and core speed increase.

Hmm, I tried running wPrime wiht CPU-Z open, still only 1.2Ghz... maybe this is why my wPrime time is so damn high.

Is it a problem with the vista power settings?

Make sure that (a) you go into the wPrime advanced settings and select 2 threads and (b) are not using a Power Saver profile which has locked the CPU speed to the slowest.

    ^ like he said

might be power settings, change power options to ALWAYS ON...so that it will use the cpu's full potential.

i got the T7200... when running CPU-Z with power settings on maximum performance it only runs at around 1ghz (its max speed is 2ghz). Then when i plug my laptop into the mains, it jumps up to 2gz (or there abouts)...

i think, like others have said, that its just preserving battery life, then when it needs more processing power, it uses more etc...

It's weird.. when I plug in my laptop it jumps to 2.2ghz for a little bit and then sinks back to 1.2ghz

I'm using high performance profile already.

I'm using Windows Vista Ultimate as well... perhaps the bootcamp drivers aren't working that well.

well all i can really say is that i dont think theres anything to worry about...

its obviously dropped down because maybe its in idle.. try plugging in the power, open up CPUZ and then open up a game, or internet browser or a big program.. see if it bumps up then..

As said run CPU-Z open wPrime make sure set to 2 threads and run, while running you should see 2.2Ghz the entire time if not something is wrong. But if it stays at 2.2Ghz then everything working as it should.

I tried that. The CPU never goes up to 2.2ghz even when running wprime, that's why I'm worried.
