Price alone? Yes good. Have not checked out your notebook so compatibility issues I do not know.

Edit: But try and talk him down on price, he is getting a premium. If you guys are Bud's split the diff?

why do you think that's a premium price, powerpack? we have been online acquaintances for a very long time and have done business in the past, so we're on very good terms. considering the prices on eBay for them (usually over $200), I thought it was a very good price.

actually, I bought the 3 year extended warranty from Futureshop, and conversing with them, everything is covered as it is stock, minus any upgrade parts I put in, unless the upgrade causes any physical damage. so if my lappy were to go gimpy on me, I would just swap the CPU/RAM back. :D

I am surprised that a T9500 can work in that XPS1330. its such a small laptop, its amazing how such a powerful processor can be cooled in it.

You should not have any problemsupgrading to a T7500.
Its a decent processor. The performance jump from 1.5Ghz to 2.2Ghz will be quite noticeable, so I think its worth the $150 cad.

I stand by my original statement. I said it all the first time. It is a fair/good price I would go for it! This is not your buddy/neighbor so I now understand.

the only concern my bud has is that the 44w for the x9000 vs the 35w of the T9500 may be the deal killer for him upgrading to that CPU.

he's gonna call Dell n ask them as he does know that the T9500 is available.

Tell your friend to download i8kfangui.
    Its a fan control program.
Tell him to use it to force the fans to come on at a lower temperature, so that his system does not overheat.
The fans preset by dell come on low speed around 150F and then high speed around 180f.
The optimum cooling, I have found, is when the fans come on low around 120F and then they come on full at 140F.
This way the temperatures never get out of control.

Also if he undervolts his cpu, it will draw less power, putting less of a load on the cooling system.

    Hi K-Tron,

I'm cam's friend selling the T7500, thanks for your advice. I tried installing that app you mentioned, but the M1330 isn't on the approved list of computers that can use the app. I tried to install the application anyways but I can't get it to work, I get errors on install. I have Windows Vista x64 Ultimate. My current cpu I'm using is a T7800 and on max usage my temps are 60-64c on full load. As well this cpu uses 1.383v, where as the X9000 uses 1.188v.

Do you think I can safely get the X9000 with little to worry about?

I just went to their website, and it does not say that its supported.
    What download did you get?
Their is one for 32bit operating systems, and one for 64bit operating systems.
Make sure you download the one for 64bit:
    http://www.diefer.de/software/i8kfangui31_x64.exe

I hope this one works for you.
If it does not work, than download cpu rightmark/notebook hardware control, and undervolt the processor a bit, so that it does not get so hot.

Yup I tried the x64 version and I get a fandio error of some sort. I'm going to try your other suggestion of cpu rightmark, or notebook hardware control. Thanks!

Edit: NHC won't install on my 64bit os, and cpu rightmark gives me no undervolting options, just a quick benchmark.
