Hey guys, quick question. What architecture does the Intel® Core2 Duo Mobile Processor T9500 use?
I've been looking for info, and I can't find an answerI'm assuming it's 32-bit (x86)?
Thanks
-
its a 64bit capable processor. You can either run a 32bit or 64bit OS on it
-
Thanks for the lightning fast response!
Would 64-bit be recommended over 32-bit? I've read a lot about driver issues, and software issues etc.
-
People that switch to 64bit mostly want to take advantage of 4gb RAM. So its up to you if you want to. I suggest making sure you have all the 64bit drivers first. I never really ran into any driver or software issues myself. Id recommend it if you have 4gb ram and have a intermediate/advanced knowledge of computers.
Most software and programs are compatible. -
Ok, thanks, I'll definitely look into it!

Hi, Flipfire. The comment in red leads me to a question. In your opinion, do you believe that the advantage in RAM is the only advantage to switching to X64. If not, what are some of the other advantages that may exist?Last edited by a moderator: May 8, 2015

I've seen a Crysis review where the same system performed slightly better (by a single digit percentage) in 64-bit than 32-bit
-
not a little, in a couple of cases it went from 20 FPS (32-bit) to 40 FPS (64-bit) on the same system.
-
That's impressive!

Yes its 64-bit. Its also Penryn and 45-nanometer if you didnt know already.
-
T9300 is a better deal and just a littler slower at stock speeds.
-
I concur..

foo25 I see on your signature that you already have the T9500. Cool. I didn't see that at first.
The T9500 is a great cpu. Congrats. -
Its also more secure due to the way it uses memory. Theres abit more advantages but I suggest you read reviews as im not really down with the details.
