I am just about to buy a new laptop and the final item that I need to decide on is the processor. I am undecided whether to get the 2.93 Ghz T9800 or the 2.53 Ghz QX9300. I am leaning in favour of the QX9300 but before I make my final decision I would like your input and thoughts.

    The computer specs are:
    Clevo M570TU,
    NVidia 280M GTX 1GB DDR 3,
    17" WUXGA,
    6GB DDR3 1066 Mhz,
    320 GB 7200RPM HD.

I will use the computer at work for stuff that is not overly arduous, mainly MS Office but at night I will be using it to game. The most demanding will be FPS such as Far Cry 2 and Crysis.

I vote QX9300 2.53Ghz is plenty fast and can be further OCed, easily to 3.00Ghz.

If money is not an issue then the clear choice is the QX9300.

the QX9300 will easily beat the fastest of dual core CPUs in a multi-threaded program/game.

and its much more future proof. :)

If money or battery life is not an issue, go with the QX9300 - it's far more powerful.

If you're talking about upgrading through the reseller, then the QX9300 is absolutely not worth the nearly $1,000. The only QX9300 that's worth it is an ES from eBay.

Also, you'll save at least $100 buying the 6GB yourself.

The money is not a problem and I am going to buy from P4Laptops in Australia. I am working in Russia and will be going home in July so I plan to buy it and have it waiting for me when I get there. :D :D :D
