Hi all i just have a little question...
Im getting my new Sager NP8662 with the T9900 tomorrow, i know there is ways of overclocking this intel chipset but idk if its possible to do it on the NP8662. The reason for me to overclock this processor is that the software im gonna use benefits from my internal clock, thus the higher clock speed the better performance i get on this piece of software..
My question is, has anyone overclocked the T9900 on an NP8662 before? If they have, how did u do it? can u give me a step by step instructions on how to do it?

P.S: ive googled and searched for posts or any tips regarding this question... besides im a newb at this stuff, not until after i ordered this laptop i discover there is something called "overclocking"...
    Thx for u help!

currently there are two ways to overclock on th np8662.
    1. using setfsb with the RTM876-660 pll (only a 200mhz increase)
    2. doing a hard mod here. this method is riskier.

SetFSB is pretty easy to use. Look at the G51 optimization thread in my signature.

It will use a different clock generator number (As Chin said, a Sager NP8662 will use the clockgen RTM876-660) and the numbers will be completely different, but it gives you the basic idea.

    why only 200mhz?

anyway to the OP, check the thread in my sig about setfsb and clockgen, it should be usefull for you (has many ways to overclock including setfsb, PLL mod, CPU BSEL mod).

the montivena platform isnt supported and so when you use that pll you cant change the fsb settings, but it gives you a boost of 200mhz. the catch, it's not stable.

    yes sorry, my misstake.

But my thread does have info on PLL modding, which will work exactly the same on any chipset :)

Also about setfsb, I think the problem is with GIVEIO.SYS.
Maybe abo (creator of setfsb) could try using win7?
