Hello everyone i was just wondering what would be the consequence if i were to replace an Intel Core 2 Duo T6400 CPU (TDP 35W) on a Acer Aspire 6935g notebook pc to a Intel Core 2 Quad Q9200 (TDP 45W). CPU temps with the duo are idling at 36 degrees (53 on full load), would the quad core make a huge impact on cooling? Is TDP important when buying a cpu?
    Any help is appreciated :)

You might could get lucky, but I'd say your BIOS won't recognize or won't supply enough power to the socket for a Q9200. I'd say your cooling system could handle it though.

I'm not sure if that model even supports quad cores.

lol its guesswork... But a few things can happen

    1. PSU can't supply more power so no boot
    2. BIOS doesn't support so no boot
    3. You might get lucky like XGX who has a VAIO CW which came with dual core and can take a quad core.

IMO, for ur best chances , get Q9000 or Q9100... Q9200 and QX9300 as extreme CPU so chances of them being supported are low... if u don't want to take the risk , any 1066MHz FSB Dual core will work... i recommend T9600 minimum if u take dual core..
