TV Monitor Recommendation?

Hey all. I'm going to buy a 4k TV as a monitor. I currently use two monitors that are 24' and 1920 x 1200 resolution and thinking of switching to one big TV as a monitor.


Im looking at these options right now. Im outside the US at the moment.

Can anyone tell what is the difference between these samsung 43' and the hisense 43'? They are literally the same thing right but the 7000 is newer?


Would you say hisense is an okay brand? Worth saying a few dollars getting a hisense as oppose to samsung? I assume if i get a hisense, best to get the more expensive one right?


But overall, still to samsung since they are the best brand? If i was in the US right now, I would get a 43' TCL which would cost like $235 only but since im outside the US, prices are much higher. Anyone can help here? Trying to order it soon as possible and looking for opinion. Thanks.

I can't find anything on rtings.com for the Hisense TV's you're listing (I didn't look too hard though).

 

Surprised you're looking at smart TV's considering your previous threads concern about security...

 

What do you mean? So I need to make sure the TV isn't a smart TV then? I want a big 43' tv so i could play lot of tables.

I'm confused. Why would this be an issue? I only want to use it as my main monitor for poker though. So when i set it up, i have to make sure it doesn't connect to my wifi?

Make sure any TV you want to use as a PC monitor supports chroma sub sampling 4:4:4, as explained here:

Otherwise text and other graphic components (e.g., window edges) won’t appear sharp and may be blurry.

That same link contains a list of TVs and whether they support this at 4K 60Hz, which you’ll want as a minimum.



Any samsung UHD tv i buy should not have any of these issues right? I dont want to use it and then the text is blurry... because then that would be useless...


But a hisense tv might have an issue? So stick with samsung?

 

Some Televisions like to scan the network when granted access to it.

So dont do that, and you'll be fine.

Would i need to worry about other issues with a TV such as input lag, mouse movement and also sitting really close to the TV though? On the poker forums, most still recommend a monitor over a TV... because well a TV is suppose to be for TV use.



Right now I either am getting a 43' 4k tv... or a 32' 4k monitor... price is roughly the same. Now if i get a 43' 4k tv, i think i would only use the tv and not use my 24' monitor because i dont have enough space on my desk for it. My desk is basically 4 feet wide total only. I put my 2 monitors on it and my laptop etc.



Now if i get a 32' 4k monitor, well i would be also using one of my 24' monitors along side it.



Also I thought this. With using a 43' 4k tv... when i do things like web browsing and everything else... isn't it going to look weird though and not comfortable as oppose to a monitor? I feel like it wouldn't look as good as a monitor.



Do you get eye strain when using a big tv as a monitor? I also sit pretty close to my two 24' monitors. Im less than 2 feet from it. So with a 43' TV, I think i would be sitting at around 2.5 feet to at most 3 feet from it. So would using it be a bit awkward?



Right now im kinda leaning toward just getting a 32' 4k monitor and using it with one of my 24' 1920x1200 monitors. Do you agree/disagree with this?


I will say... if i could get two 32' 4k monitors and use them side by side, that would be probably the ideal situation. But I also don't want to spend that much money on it.
