    Hey,

With my limited knowledge, I think that all you need is an HDMI output on your laptop to hook it up to another monitor for "dual monitor".

But are there any other factors? Is it possible to use another screen while I'm playing a game? Lastly, does anyone know the best TV/Monitor (I'm thinking Samsung).

    Thanks!

It is hard to decide what is best TV/Monitor. I ususally go for the one that can support the highest PC input resolution.

You need some sort of 2nd graphic card support addon to multi task on 2 monitors. I use VTBook pcmcia.

    cheers ...

Do you really need 2nd graphic card? I thought you just have to connect the laptop to the monitor with a HDMI cable and it would work.

Also, shouldn't a regular TV work as a monitor as long as there is a HDMI component? Does anyone know if it would lag?

NO, you don't need a second graphic card. You need to connect your computer to your monitor with a hdmi cable.

Cool. Do you know if there are problems using a TV to use as a monitor? I am thinking of buying a gaming laptop and use a bigger monitor to play games and research. I know there shouldn't be a problem to use as a researching monitor, but would it lag for games (such as starcraft 2 when it comes out)
    Thanks!

I use my 50" plasma TV for my monitor. I use it to play 720P and 1080P videos on my netbook with intel atom.

The TV is just like any monitor. If starcraft 2 lags on any monitor, it'll lag on your TV as well.
