Hi, I am getting this laptop real soon, and I wanted the TV Tuner option, but I have heard that it is not worth getting the one from Dell. I have been looking in the forum for a TV Tuner that will be for a good price and good quality. I would'nt want to spend over $100 dollars tho. Please let me know which one will be better for me and for the best price. I will mostly be recording TV Shows, that is pretty much all I know you can do with this TV Tuner. Please tell me what else I could do or what are the advantages of having a TV Tuner. Thanx for the help....

Im not sure but Ive heard a few people say the E1505 lacks a PCMCIA slot which is how you would normally attach a TV tuner card, you would have to go with a expresscard TV tuner and there arnt many available, Just one from Avermedia and one from HP, theres one other from some weird norwegian brand to.

If you're not going to game USB2 tuners might do the job.

a bit over your budget ~$150, but my gf had good results using these with her m140.. you need to get an external antenna though, if you plan on using it without cable or satellite.. personally i cant stand watching any kind of TV on a small 14" or 15" screen, but thats just me.. :)

Well the only reason I want this is because I want to record some tv shows, not watch them on the laptop. I want to be able to record them, burn them to a DVD and watch them on real TV. I hope you know what I mean.... thanx

Hauppauge USB2 PVR. You can probably hunt one down for around $100. I paid that for mine 1.5 yrs ago. Records MPEG2 without encoding in the machine. But if you're only wanting to record shows to DVD, why not a standalone DVD recorder??? (Many choices less than $100...)
