I regret not ordering one with my notebook so does anyone have any tuners they would recommend? UK based companies if possible, international shipping is annoying. Money isn't a problem but I do like to get value for my money.

I've been using the Freecom DVB-T USB stick for the past year or so. It works fine, once connected to a proper aerial (which will apply to any TV tuner unless you live next to a transmitter).

Hmm reviews on Amazon are far from flattering.

Hauppauge, Pinnacle and Avermedia are quite reputable brands.

x2 for the Freecom DVB-T stick

You may need to use the 'main' aerial, i.e. your TV house aerial for optimal results. Only £30 or so and no need for £70-odd fancy PCMCIA ones. With digital TV, you either get an 'on' or 'off' signal. But a portable aerial may not be strong enough to pick the signal up

And you may want an external HD if you're recording programmes ;) :)

I can personally recommend the Hauppage Win TV Nova T USB 2 TV card here. It comes with a remote which is very useful and also the drivers are bda compatible meaning win mce and "see" and use the device.
