    Hi,

I have a Sony Vaio TX3 laptop but it does not have a TV or Svideo out.

How can I connect this laptop to my TV?

If your laptop doesn't have an S-video, then you cannot connect it to a normal television. I assume your laptop does have a VGA out, or a DVI, in which case, if you have an LCD or plasma screen, you might be able to connect it to that.

Why do they not add TV out's to all the high end laptops??? I could only find the ASUS w5 as the only thin and light laptop with svideo out.

Surely most users would want to connect to tv to watch downloaded AVI's and streaming video

There are pieces of hardware out there to which you can connect your laptop through the VGA, then it can either output through S-video, composite, or sometimes VGA. These can run anywhere from 30-80 bucks, though.

I feel your pain, as my nVidia 7400 only has VGA out and I'm considering getting something to output to my TV.

Good question. I think its probably because high end laptops don't need S-video, as they already have either VGA or DVi, and sometimes both. A manufacturer rarely spends more moeny on something that the consumer may or may not use.
