I hope this is the correct area. I just bought a Dell Vostro 1500 and I am looking for a TV tuner for it that I can hook my cable up to. I have no idea where to start with this. I would like to be able to record TV shows to my laptop. What should I get or look for. Any help is much appreciated.

You can start there; pretty much anything there will do. I've had a good experience with Hauppauge. Take note that most of these USB tuners don't output video in real time; there's usually a good couple seconds of lag, making it impossible to say, play console games using your laptop screen as a monitor. -
thanks, i'll scroll through them. I'm not a gamer, I just want to be able to record TV shows to my laptop when needed.

If your cable is digital they wont work, sorry. I believe none on the market. If analog cable I think you are OK.

Hauppauge's has a clear-QAM tuner (in addition to ATSC/NTSC) which should make this a possibility. -
Could not find on there site yet but they do have an express card that does QAM cable. A little waiting and more will have. Thanks for the info LoneWolf15.
