    I just thought I'd share something interesting. I have a Compaq R3000T. I did have 512MB ram, 5,400rpm 60GB Hard drive and it would idel cpu at 43 and hard drive around 39. I installed 512MB more ram and installed a 7,200rpm 60GB drive my cpu not idles at 38 and my hard drive at 29. I'm really happy with the upgrade thought I'd share, I expected the temps to go up a little.
