    I just wanted to say thank you to everyone that took the time to give such helpful advice. I really appreciate all of you putting up with my newbish questions. So incase you are wondering, here is the system I had dell build for me:

    XPS m1530
    Tuxedo black
    T7250 2DUO
    1 gig ram (but will buy more though the hot ram deals thread)
    8600GT graphics card
    9 cell battery
    Total price $1,274 (FUN FACT: less then the first system i was going to have them build me)

    You should have used the $300 off $1499 coupon.

    I specced a T7700, 2gb, 8600GT etc for $1224 after the coupon.

    On the XPS 1530?

    EDIT: i see it was on an Inspiron. I have to say im pretty fond of the look of the 1530.

    The $300 coupon is expired. But ThePope, you probably could have gotten another $100ish off.

    From several days ago right? Expired for the 1530 now... It basically converted the gift card that you would have received into instant discount.
