I hope someday they will manage to make a laptop that does:
-Stays 2-3 days on battery with full capacity
-keeps you connected to the high speed internet via satellite for free![]()
-you can play the latest games on it, and upgrading is only a matter of adding more memory to the super video card.
-very thin and light, foldable twice so that you can put it in your pocket.
-no need for cooling, the unit doesn't produce any heat... that saves battery energy!
-water proof 30m depth lol, anti shock, anti scratch.
-Telepathy enabled, you won't have to use a keyboard or mouse, all you have to do it thinking of using them!
Any other crazy ideas to add?

wow - ya - how about an infinite hard drive capacity??
-
Yeah, that along with a cold beer dispenser and a device that wipes your a$$ for you.
-
I'll add something that's been done but never really sold hitachi developed a water cooled laptop in japan I don't know if it sold or not but I'd be interested-quiet and cold running!
-
Water + laptop dosent sound like a great combination to me. Must have been really expensive and somewhat big. I mean an in and out flow piping couldnt have taken up more room than the current copper heat transfers used now, but then add a pump. Then the extra power for the pump and refrigrator for the water, battery life must have sucked.

I am really down for the beer fountain, as long as the ExpressCard port can be converted into a pizza oven.
-
a laptop that will transform into a robot and do my work....then when i ned to use the internet or play a game...i just order it to turn back into a laptop

Heres an idea. Instead of the standard UI (User Interface) of a mouse and keyboard, it has a MII (Mind Integration Interface). So computing is like thinking to yourself. You know when you think about stuff and you can picture stuff in your head, like that, but thats how you interface with the computer. Now that would be the ultimate in technological interfaces. You think of a paper and it instantly types it up, or playing an ultra realistic game in your mind so its like your actually doing it.
And yes the built in beef fountain and pizza oven are a must, along with the a$$ wiper -
-
Of course this won't work for us really since laptops need a lot more power then what a sensor would take. Just interesting to know that there are batteries that can last years. -
A laptop with an a$$ wiper?
I'd buy that. -
A slot that pops out that you could dock your ipod to
-
anyone read iRobot or see the Matrix? yea.
EDIT
how bout one that plays oblivion on max settings for cheap....or...FREE? -
My dream laptop:
360 degree surrounding LCD. So when I want to look behind when I play shooting games, I look back by turning my neck, instead of turning my mouse. -
yeah one can only dream...
-
And forget LCDs, I want a hologram! -
-
Yeah im to lazy to get a laptop that would require regular maintenance. I'll just settle for my 1210 with the built in hand warmer
-
I'd want my dream notebook to have pop out speakers for full 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound
-
I want a loptop that has SUPER performance , WONDERFUL design , and most of all FREE!!!!!
-
Notebook Quad-SLI?
-
No.. notebook 16-tuple SLI... with 8 graphics cards, 5 physics cards, awesome sound card, and 2 AI Cards. I think they exist.. but that'd be awesome to have TWO of them... think about all the possibilties.
-
Why would I pay for all that when I can just live. I mean with a set up like that playing a game on that and living would be an identical experence. I would just choose to live since living is free.
-
How about a laptop that has at least 9 hours battery life with heavy usage? (not light use which is achieveable now). Thats all I would want from a laptop so you can bring it with you anywhere and just recharge it at night.
This might be achieveable in like the next few years not the next century. -

I would like a 15.4 inch WXGA+ laptop with:
Intel Core 2 Duo @3.16Ghz
4gb DDR3 Ram @ 1.00Ghz
160gb 7,200rpm HDD
7900GTX,8900GTX, or future equivalents with 512mb to 1gb of video memory.
With at least 12hours battery life and under 5.5 pounds. -
I can see something like that being a reality in mabey 2 years (with the 8 series card)

My dream laptop would be a build-it-yourself much like desktops. I dream of the day this is just as easy as it is to build your own desktop system. If that day ever comes...well that remains to be seen. Barebones kits just don't do it for me.
