I hope someday they will manage to make a laptop that does:

-Stays 2-3 days on battery with full capacity
-keeps you connected to the high speed internet via satellite for free
-you can play the latest games on it, and upgrading is only a matter of adding more memory to the super video card.
-very thin and light, foldable twice so that you can put it in your pocket.
-no need for cooling, the unit doesn't produce any heat... that saves battery energy!
-water proof 30m depth lol, anti shock, anti scratch.
-Telepathy enabled :p, you won't have to use a keyboard or mouse, all you have to do it thinking of using them!

Any other crazy ideas to add?

    :p

Water + laptop dosent sound like a great combination to me. Must have been really expensive and somewhat big. I mean an in and out flow piping couldnt have taken up more room than the current copper heat transfers used now, but then add a pump. Then the extra power for the pump and refrigrator for the water, battery life must have sucked.

I am really down for the beer fountain, as long as the ExpressCard port can be converted into a pizza oven.

Heres an idea. Instead of the standard UI (User Interface) of a mouse and keyboard, it has a MII (Mind Integration Interface). So computing is like thinking to yourself. You know when you think about stuff and you can picture stuff in your head, like that, but thats how you interface with the computer. Now that would be the ultimate in technological interfaces. You think of a paper and it instantly types it up, or playing an ultra realistic game in your mind so its like your actually doing it.

And yes the built in beef fountain and pizza oven are a must, along with the a$$ wiper :)

Heh well there is a battery that we don't have access to, which lasts years (About 12.3 years before it starts diminishing in power output). Its known as BetaBattery. Unfortunately there isn't much research done on it and its used to power devices that are not easily reached, so battery changing is extremely hard. It relies on decay of hydrogen isotope tritium instead of chemical reaction like our current mainstream batteries.

Of course this won't work for us really since laptops need a lot more power then what a sensor would take. Just interesting to know that there are batteries that can last years.

    My dream laptop:
360 degree surrounding LCD. So when I want to look behind when I play shooting games, I look back by turning my neck, instead of turning my mouse.

Well of course such a system would be expensive and large not to mention complicated. Besides possible leaks you'd need to change the fluid at some point

Why would I pay for all that when I can just live. I mean with a set up like that playing a game on that and living would be an identical experence. I would just choose to live since living is free.

How about a laptop that has at least 9 hours battery life with heavy usage? (not light use which is achieveable now). Thats all I would want from a laptop so you can bring it with you anywhere and just recharge it at night.

This might be achieveable in like the next few years not the next century. :)

    I would like a 15.4 inch WXGA+ laptop with:

    Intel Core 2 Duo @3.16Ghz
    4gb DDR3 Ram @ 1.00Ghz
    160gb 7,200rpm HDD
7900GTX,8900GTX, or future equivalents with 512mb to 1gb of video memory.

With at least 12hours battery life and under 5.5 pounds.

My dream laptop would be a build-it-yourself much like desktops. I dream of the day this is just as easy as it is to build your own desktop system. If that day ever comes...well that remains to be seen. Barebones kits just don't do it for me.

Yeah I knew someone was going to say this. Yeah and bills and living expenses too. But thats in America and most countries in this world. What if I live in the wilderness, naked, living off the land? Thats free.
