Someone said that modern day laptops share the same heatsink for both the CPU and the GPu.
So im wondering, if i can manage to cool down my laptop's CPU by about 5C, will this put a cooling effect on my GPU too?
Thanks in advance!

You mean the heatsink will be cooler..maybe..If there is any effect will be very little..or nothing. -
It is a very small enclosed space any reduction in heat from one component will affect all components. They are a part of same passive and active cooling solution. Yes it would be beneficial but mostly in reducing how often and for how long fan stays on and reduce power consumption. You should look into thermal compounds for GPU and CPU if reducing heat is your main objective that will have a direct effect on both.

Yes! I knew I wasn't crazy (well not that crazy). I experianced that on my M1530

i noticed my GPU temp dropped by practically 4~5C! Awesome! Or maybe its cuz Aero is not on...

Sounds like Areo is involved but well turn it back on and see?

Ill give it a shot asap! Reporting back in 10 min

Where the CPU and GPU share the same heatsink and cooling system then reducing the heat generated by the CPU should enable the cooling system to be more effective at reducing the GPU heat. Give undervolting a try!

I think he already did.
UVing is more beneficial than people know..
-better battery life
-lower cpu temps
-lower overall temps
-longer cpu/components life
-less consumption when plugged in
-less fan activity and so on...
