    The green and blue audio jacks in my laptop

    On the side of my laptop I have three audio jacks: a blue, a green, and a pink one. I'm pretty sure the pink one is for microphones etc, but I have no idea about the difference between the blue and the green one.

    Amazing that I couldn't find an easy answer to this on the internet, but I really couldn't.

    Green = audio-out for headphones
    blue = line-in used for input of sound directly, e.g. hi-fi system audio line directly into the line-in and then using software like sound recorder to record it.
    and yes the pink is external microphone.
