I have an year plus HP pavillion dv6000 series.

Maybe I didn't notice before or they appeared recently, but there is whiteness on the upper left and right corners of the screen. It isn't on the outside as it only shows up when the laptop is on.

Also, if i have a darker background like on movies that are on widescreen format [black bars above and below the movie], the whites becomes smaller like a small line on the corners.

Is it something to do with the screen losing its life or is it because of some internal dust? I have used windex to clean it but I wonder how can dust get to the back of the screen? It is primarily used a home desktop.

Its called backlight bleed, not much you can do about it without maybe some electric tape mods :p

So that is a problem with my screen getting loose or pixels getting bad?

What is an electric tape mod?

Well strange that you say its a new developing problem, in most cases backlight bleed is there from the start.

If you change your view angle of the screen does the light get worse/better? Just open an all black picture or something to test or use a monitor test program.

The electric tape mod was the only mod I have ever seen to combat backlight bleed, it was done on a Dell I think and basically they had to remove the LCD panel and tape around its edges to prevent the light from leaking in. Not a mod for the light hearted and will most definitely void your warranty.

Actually, the darker the background I use the less the backlight bleeding.

When I run a video with those up and down black bars, the bleeding is reduced to a line on both sides so it goes down 30%?

Screen bled is a screen issue. Short from replacing (repair if possible) it, nothing would do to help you out.

    cheers ...
