    Hi all,
Recently I bought a Hitachi 500gb harddrive to replace my 120gb harddrive. I wonder what is the best way to transfer all the data from the old harddrive to the new one? Here is my tools and config.

-External harddrive (It is a Fujitsu and I don't think it is removable)

    -Visita 64 bit

    -DVD-R

    Please advise..

Copy anything you need from the 120gb to the external, then copy the data from the external to the 500gb

It's either that, or clone/back-up to the external, and then restore onto the new drive. That would probably be simplest, although you may lose some performance doing so.

That's what I would do. Clean install OS on the new drive.
