We tested it in our labs. It's horrible, the temps were higher than with any other thermal paste which is very surprising as Thermal Grizzly advertised this to be like the next best thing out there and it's VERY expensive. PHOBYA NanoGrase and GELID GC Extreme Thermal Compound are still the best non-metal thermal pastes.

I was honestly never impressed with Grizzly pastes...but maybe it was just me. Obviously a lot of people have really good luck with them, but in my laptops I just went back to what worked for me, and it wasn't Grizzly unfortunately. I have seen so many people on Reddit who have had similar experiences with Kryonaut and Conductonaut that I just don't recommend them anymore. In the grand scheme of things most of the high end pasts are so close temp wise that unless you HAVE to get the absolute lowest temps then they are all going to perform well enough. I would rather have a paste that lasts me a long time vs something I have to reapply once a year or more but gets me 1c cooler temps.

Only Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut is good. The rest you can trash in the garbage. They either have bad thermal dissipation or average but deteriorates in performance within 3-4 days at max.

Honestly I think a lot of it comes down to the QC on the heatsinks and that is kind of a mixed bag, or was in previous generations. It seems to be less of an issue these days compared to the Tripod days. I repasted with Kryonaut at least 4 times on my 17R4 and then gave up completely. From what I have seen if you use it on a desktop application it seems to do better. Conductonaught gave me horrible core differentials and higher temps overall then IC Diamond, and I tried Conductonaut three times as well. I didn't even bother with my Area-51m, I just went straight to IC and my differentials are almost non existent and temps are great overall.

Obviously users like iUnlock have had great success with Grizzly so it can work well, but I think you have to be willing to put in a lot of extra time for balancing and what not to get those results. I am not that hardcore, I am just an average user. I just want to take it apart, slap new paste in there and button it back up :p

Rather say to the reddit users that they should ask for a heatsink replacement for free. This is the only viable solution. A warped or not flat heatsink will never work properly regardless if you use Conductonaut or other good conventional thermal paste.
If you have problem with Conductonaut maybe its time to ask for replacement heatsink. At least try fix what you have. Liquid metal is used in more and more notebooks. Maybe the brand you tried it on and as you said it failed, then they should move on and try fix their quality problems.

If you can't get an improvement with it then its two things that stop it from work. The cooling capacity is already saturated and can't move more heat or the heatsink is in bad shape (warped or/and not flat).

Even consoles come with LM now... PlayStation 5 uses liquid metal

Heat management is a huge part of engineering any electronics system. And Sony obviously emphasized the importance of cooling during the PS5’s design phase. This might result in the PS5 running cooler and quieter. But more important, it should enable the system to run demanding games without crashing.

And LM will be more important as time come, the more the shrinking sickness continue stay up. You simply can't fill a 5l bag with 7l water (where the 5l is the chassis and the 7l is the heatsink).

The best regular thermal paste right now is: Thermalright TFX #1, Kryonaut #2 (regular) and Phobya Nanogrease Extreme #3 (in my opinion). TFX if very hard to apply correctly. The best technique is (as recommended by @Falkentyne) the x method (put very little in my testing is better). Also (as @Papusan suggested) put the seringue in a plastic bag and hot water before applying an X patern (otherwise it will be to thick).
I understand people are complaining about Kryonaut longetivity but i never had this problem. Maybe it's related to a uneven heatsink since this paste is so soft.
Edit: i never had a problem with kryonaut but i never had this paste more then 2 months on my laptops. Maybe if i kept it longer it would have deteriorated...i don't know.

You tested TFX vs Kryonaut? What were the temp results?

    Kryonaut just isn’t that good.

This is a test I ran a few weeks ago over the course of a week between 5 different pastes to test T9+ and Kryonaut was last.....again.
