Out of pure curiosity, how much is the license per core? If it is expensive enough you might be able to justify simply buying a more powerful laptop with beef cooling.

Thermal paste and heatsink lapping cant change the laws of physics - theres only so much performance you can squeeze out of your machine esp. when UV is off the table

What are you talking about? What license?

Well yes but no. The whole reason why repasting works is because factory paste is the single largest bottleneck in the cooling system. And the more thermally dense the component is, the more it benefits from using a better conducting paste.

This is especially apparent when applying LM over a high quality paste on the cpu vs gpu. On the cpu side, there is a 5-10°C difference going with LM over hq paste but barely a 3°C difference on the gpu side.

OP mentioned his software is limited by percore licenses (page3 first post) and subequently that he clocks both his laptop and desktop to 4ghz and 4c 8t.

A faster and more modern processor than the 8550u in a more beefy laptop will clock higher even if thr 4ghz max boost is sustainable with perfect contact and a good thermal paste

Any update on this? For my laptop Arctic MX-4 gave me the best performance while it didn't pump out. I may try MX4 on the die and leftover Hydronaut to seal it in as you described.

Today I received the ZF-EX paste and I got -13º on the hottest core after a long session of Overwatch.
Max core was 84º, while yesterday was 97º (pumped out GC-Gelid Extreme)

I must say ,when I opened the package and saw the the label unproperly wrapped on the tube, it didnt give the best impression.

So far the performance is good, lets see how long it lasts.

Hey! I've found it for 3.52€ from China (will take 2 months) so I couldn't resist to test it for that cheap price ;-)
I usually recommend GC Extreme for gaming laptops (lasts longer and keeps sustained good high temps)...
