Hi, I have a 64GB Samsung Thin SSD that I want to connect to my Alienware m17x. The connectors are different, and the size is drastically different. Any suggestions? Thank you

By thin I assume you mean it's a 1.8'' form factor. You might need an adapter bracket or something.

As for connecters, what do you mean they're different? It's not SATA?

    Post a picture? If it's 1.8", you'll need a microSATA-to-SATA connector.

Sorry guys for not clarifying. Yes, it is a 1.8" drive.

That link is perfect I believe.

Is the samsung thin 128GB SSD faster than the Seagate 7200 RPM hdd? I checked out the stats and it doesn't seem that fast. It seems like a RAID 0 7200RPM HDD might be faster. Can anyone clarify? Thanks!

BTW, is there a cheaper alternative to that 1.8" to 2.5" adapter?

I have a Samsung 128gb SSD. It's amazingly fast. Will blow the 7200 rpm drive out of the water.

For a cheaper alternative, there's smaller adapters (search ebay) going for about $20. I opted out of that as my drive was uncased and I wanted the full enclosed as a safety precaution (I also lined the inside with kapton tape to prevent shorts).
