    Hi guys,

I was just copying over my internal hard disk to my external hard disk using Ubuntu terminal and knocked the USB cable out. When plugged back in, the disk will not mount in either Windows or Linux. Is there anything I can do???

    Thanks very much,

    Matt. I

Try powering it off and on along with your computer. You may have to unplug the external hard drive from the outlet. I have to do that with mine from time to time. It shouldn't have damaged the disk.

Is the external drive powering up (any lights on it)? Try another usb port, maybe the damage is to the port.
