I just want to make sure I'm spending cash on things that will actually make an impact, or whether I should save for my inevitable upgrade to a 9600M GT and SSD in a year or two.
How much of a performance increase should I expect going from 3GB to 4GB on 32-bit OS? I know not all 4GB is addressable.
On the other hand, I've got a spare mini-PCIe slot for a Turbo Memory card (seriously, it's printed on the mainboard that it's for "Robson or TV Tuner ONLY"). Would that make any impact at all on my system?

The current Robson memory technology has shown little or no performance benefit in either real-world usage or benchmarks; it would be wise to save your money for something else.
Wrt the RAM upgrade, going from 3GB to 4GB is also pretty pointless, if you stick with a 32-bit OS. You're essentially upgrading your hardware without taking full advantage of it - although most computers detect ~3.25GB with a 32-bit OS. -
Thanks, Bog.
I guess I'll keep waiting for that SSD.
EDIT: Waitaminute, there are Robson 1GB modules on eBay for around $15! Does that make it a better deal or not? -
I agree with bog, save your money. The improvement would be tiny. Also very few programs use the full 3Gb.

robson turbocache memory is poo.
No difference is made whatsoever. -
OK then - looks like I'll just wait for a sweetheart deal on a 2GB RAM module, so that when I do decide to move to 64-bit, I can use it.
