I am pretty sure the OCZ vertex is better. Both have the Jmicron controller if I remember correctly.
You should take a glance at the SSD thread, I am sure they mentioned both drives in their:

Use the "Search this thread" option in the top right of the page to search for vertex and corsair

Get the Corsair and don't look back. The corsair is basically a Samsung MLC with the Corsair name on it, which means no stuttering problems or massive power consumption. Do not pay too much attention to theoretical read/write speed of the vertex...

Also agree, go for Corsair S128. I've been using it for a month or so and I love it.

I have to use Premiere and After Effects a lot in school and I can see a huge performance increase over the normal HDD.

Just disable disk defrag and you are good to go. I have a Samsung 64gb SLC in my T500 and I loving it! These SSDs will transform your laptop into a monster! ;)

Actually neither have a Jmicron controller so you're ok either way.
The Corsair is supposed to be the same as the Samsung SSD you get in the Dell XPS series and Apple Macbooks, so its tried and tested. Vertex is newer, but seems reasonable based on early impressions.

Personally, I would go with the Corsair.
