Is it okay to use a Dell PA-10 Family AC Adapter for my R61 laptop?

It is most likely not going to work. Dell power adaptors are impedance matched with the motherboard. If you try using a different power supply in a dell laptop, the system will reject it.
Some Lenovo's do not have this feature, so you may be able to use the power supply
However you need to match three values
1) the actual port. The plug on the end of the power supply has to be able to fit into the laptop
2) the voltage of the power supply, and the voltage of the laptop. Too high of a voltage and you are going to destroy your laptop
3) amperage. If your laptop is say 19V at 4.5amps, you are not going to get much use out of a power supply which is 19v at 1 amp. It may not be able to power it. Too much amperage can be bad too. You want roughly the same amperage.

Why risk using a different AC adapter?
