I recently bought a used laptop from a friend. It's a IBM Thinkpad T21 (2647). The company that originally owned it pulled the hard drive before selling it. I figured any 2.5 laptop drive would fit. I have a IBM travelstar 5GB drive that seems to fit, but when I boot the machine there is no hard drive activity. My question...is there a special type of drive or pin configuration for this machine? Thanks

You might be missing an adapter such that although the harddrive is inserted into the machine it's not actually connected to anything.
