I'm considering a Thinkpad Z60 but cannot find a parallel port listed on the specs.

How then to connect my aging HP LaserJet 4L?
    Can it be done?

    Thanks,

    laserjet 4L !!!?!?!?!

    total timewarp !!!!

i think you have a couple options:

    1. network the printer; either onto a desktop that has a parallel port and share it out (the desktop will have to be "on" for it to work) or buy an adapter that will put it on the LAN (i.e., a "print server")
    2. parallel > usb adapter (if there is such a thing?)

Timewarp? Absolutely. The printer is a few girlfriends old!

HP is still cranking out cartridge replacements though. And the darn thing just keeps on working. Maybe if I could find a new model that is equally reliable and also fits on the tiny spot of real estate available on my desk.......

    Any thoughts?

To the point -- I have only the latop, no desktop to network.

Is there such a thing as a parallel > usb adapter?

The printer is actually circa 1993!

Thanks much for the fast response.

NetBrakr, that looks like it might work.

(Or maybe it really is time for a replacement.)
