    Hello everyone,

I have a three year old IBM Thinkpad R40... a couple of days ago i was working on my laptop untill the battery died and the laptop shutdown or went into hibernation..cant remember really...so as usual i went to my room and i put it into the adapter....the charging lights came on as usual but they went off in two seconds even when it was still plugged in!! so i opened the lid and pressed the power button so the computer came up for two seconds then switched off again! i removed the plug for a coupe of seconds put it back in...charging LEDS turned on as charging..i pressed the power button and again it turned on but switched off again so i read a couple of articles on the net that statedd that i should remove the battery and anything else i could remove which i did...but nothing work and the same stuff happens....so please help me if u can...is my laptop dead? and why?
