The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Not any laptop, but any recent laptop which uses 200-pin DDR2 SODIMM. If you are not sure what RAM you need, use Crucial's memory advisor.

    I've used play.com for buying many things (but not RAM) and they have been reliable.

    You can run the Crucial memory advisor which John linked to or download CPU-Z which you can run and then look in the SPD tab to see what type of memory you are using. This is listed along the lines of PC-5300 which you can see here:
