    Hi
Does someone know what might be wrong with my Acer 6935g laptop?
It makes ticking sound when processor is working hard, ex when gaming and watching movies.. Just when working hard. May be assosiated with the sound "predator" makes in the movie :p Very annoying:S This issue has existed since I got it in May. Havent got enough time to send it to support because of work. Any tip? Is it the fan?
    Sincerely
    Hermie

I don't know if the HDD is faulty... but yeah, mine does too. Actually an older hard drive I took out of a broken laptop. No problems with it yet. I don't like the ticking sound though.

    A time bomb!!

Nah, kidding. It could, however, be the HDD. Is it rhythmic? Or sorta like machinery moving? If it's like robotic moving sounds, then it might be the HDD, but a tick like a wristwatch would be something else.

It wasn't the HDD, so probably it is the fan... Not a total vaste though. I upgraded to a 500 gb 7200rpm. Next order for me will be a fan :p Anyone knows which type the fan is?=p

It could also be the ODD (optical disk drive).

    Sorry for being wrong :(

I asked some computer advicers and all agreed it surely was the HDD, so it's okay ;) Thanks for replying anyways! I don't think it's the ODD because I haven't inserted any CD's while sound comes up. Can't find any fan specs for this model though:S
