I wondered if anyone had access to a full spec for the 6.4Gb Hard Drive in the 3110CT ( Tosh Part No. P000271180). I want to upgrade to a 30/40Gb disk , but I'm wary of installing something which will take more power or generate nore heat ( as this is a lightweight and battery life is limited ). OR is it the case that all modern notebook drives will consume less power than older ones ( circa 2000).
Also, does anyone know if there is a bios restriction on disk size ( I have the latest bios installed ).

    Cheers,
    Gary

As far as power and heat go, you can bet that the drives that are being made now use less power and produce less heat than those of several years ago. There could be a BIOS restriction, but having the latest BIOS helps but does not guarantee you BIOS supports the full capacity. Your best bet there is to also go to Toshiba itself and ask or try the toshiba newgroups to see if they have the answer.
