    exactly what model specifically?

Why are you limiting yourself to Toshiba drives? You can use other manufacturer drives instead of toshiba ones.

ok ,, now i am reaching here ,,,
    I think it is TK143 / PMAE00776010

and thanks for that directive so far ,, it as because I thought that was what I was limited too.
So I would be glad to know of other compatible hard drives..
If I use another , do I purchase a new Windows program ??
Will it still keep it built in wireless features or should I get a wireless card ??

I have to recover this one constantly after a virus my husband downladed on it about a year ago while downloading files from the free edition of limewire.

I mean it it is thrashed

I just had the thought that if I used another hard drive I would need a new windows program because I wouldnt be able to load it on with my recovery disk .
but .... I can and am willing to do it ,,

It should use an SATA hard disk.

If you're going to replace the hard disk anyways, take the drive out and have a look at the interface it is using now.

Wireless feature means it has a wireless card internally, all you would need is windows drivers to be able to use it.

As for the Windows, I haven't worked on that laptop specifically but the past Toshiba's I have worked on have included full recovery CD's and you can load them onto other hard drives once the drive has been installed in the system. I can't say with 100% certainty if the disks you have are full recovery from the disk or if they recover from the hard disk.

    Thank you ,,
    That is really good news.
I think I have the full recovery disk because it gives me the options of recovering to the out of box state or to erase the entire hard drive and start over.

If I need the Windows drivers,, I am not sure how to get them .
I know that is a dum uestion but I didnt know if that was something online or a CD or what I needed ,, just in case
