    Hi.

When you've read the forum threads thoroughly, you'll come to the conclusion that there are a few SSDs to go for... Crucial M4, Samsung 470 and Intel 320 or 510. And, don't touch any SF/SF2 drive!

I have read until now the crucial m4 thread, it looks good but that's why I've asked for your opinion. Does it run on my system?

I don't want to buy the ssd and get many BSOD.

The BSOD's seems to have been solved on the M4 for PC's, but some MAC's still have issues. The problem seems to have been due to incompatibility with Intel RST drivers, and I believe other SSDs have had similar issues. Also, from what I have read, there were issues with windows 7 drivers, which were updated by a hotfix at some point.

Samsung 470's seem to be the most reliable (from newegg results), followed by Crucial and Intel. I've not had and issues on my M4 yet, and I'm still on 0001 with msachi (not intel RST drivers)... though I've an issue with 4KQD32 performance not being quite where it should be, which I'm 99% sure is down to my older laptop. However, you'll be gob-smacked with how fast any one of these SSD's is compared to your HD :)

Sad to say the M4 still has problems. At least on my two machines. Samsung 470 or Intel 320 remain the only reliable choices currently.

Hi. I'd be very interested to hear more about the problems are you having. Are you on latest 0002 M4 firmware? Bios set to ACHI? msahci or intel RST drivers? (I guess you've tried both). Windows 7 SP1? Also, have you any CDM performance figures? SATA II or SATA III? Laptops or desktops? Or possibly you could give me a link, if you've posted this info elsewhere?

    1. I would not buy a used SSD, as you'l probably get no warranty.
    2. Just make sure it's the latest 470 series.

How can I tell? I've been google-ling and it is 470 series, not sure if it the latest version.

It is marked as new, but no warranty.
