    Hello,

I`ve got a Toshiba Canvio 1 TB USB HD 3.0 for a couple of months now. Occupied about 210 GB. Now, after plugging it in to my Compaq laptop computer, I can open it all right, it shows all the documents and files, but says these are shortcuts instead of the real files.
For about 2 days it was possible to open the files via these "shortcuts" when the identical files were stored also in the laptop. But, for another 2 days now, this also isn“t possible anymore (and unfortunately of course, no way to open any other).

    What can I do?
    Thanks for help!

Do the shortcuts lead to locations on the computer or on the external? To see what's actually on the external, you can use a free program like WinDirStat that will show everything on a storage drive, broken down by file type.
