    I don't think it is. That drive is a serial ATA (SATA) device, and I bet your laptop only supports parallel ATA (PATA, or just IDE) drives. Go into the device manager and get the model number of your drive, then do a google search for that and you should be able to find out what type of interface it is.

    Yup I just had a look, yesh crocomumt you need a IDE hard drive. (aka UATA, ATA-6, ATA-100) It all gets rather confusing. :p

    That looks like the right thing. I have the 80GB version of that drive in a laptop here and it's been working very well for a couple years at least.
